In support of Pride 2024, Reiss and queer artist, Sam Wood present a joyful celebration of the multi-faceted LGBTQIA+ community, inspired by our shared London heritage.
With the windows of our Regent Street store, on the route of the London Pride parade, as his canvas, Sam transforms our capital city into a sprawling garden. Flowing through the centre of the composition, the River Thames stands as an iconic symbol of unity within the complex beauty of the queer garden that surrounds it.
Sam is an English painter, born and raised in Gloucestershire, now working and living in London. A fine art graduate of Central St Martins, his works focus on the intersection of the natural world and the human world, using bold colour and line to bring the environments he finds himself in whimsically to life.
Gardens and gardening are an essential part of Wood’s influences and his own garden in London is undergoing constant change, a journey he regularly features on his socials and which directly informs the varied artworks he makes, from framed works to giant murals.Sam’s artwork, celebrating Pride 2024 will be showcased on the windows of our Reiss stores throughout the UK and Ireland during Pride month in June.
