Reiss’ environmental policy sets out our goal to continuously improve the environmental performance and resource efficiency of the business. We are monitoring, reporting and taking steps to reduce the climate impact of our business activities in line with the Paris Climate Change Agreement. We also recognise the value of collaboration and participate in fashion industry environmental initiatives to learn from best practice and achieve our environmental goals.
Reiss has measured and reported its greenhouse gas emissions since 2019 and is introducing new business-wide ways to minimise emissions from our operations and products. Our 2022 Carbon Emissions data is available here.
Our commitments are to:
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2040.
- Embed decarbonisation into our decision-making.
- Monitor, measure and report our carbon emissions.
PARTNERSHIPS
Collective action and partnerships with key organisations are crucial for amplifying impact and driving systemic change on ESG issues – partnering with these organisations accelerates Reiss' progress on environmental, social, and governance issues.
Reiss has been a member of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) since 2017, beginning at Foundation level and becoming a full member in 2019. The ETI is an alliance of companies, trade unions and NGOs that promote respect for workers’ rights around the globe.
In 2023, Reiss began a partnership with Next plc, adopting the Next plc Code of Practice as a framework for supply chain due diligence and benefitting from a wider network of in-country auditors, thereby significantly increasing our capacity to monitor labour conditions and identify issues of concern. Further information about our programme can be found in our Modern Slavery Statement and policies.
Reiss has partnered with Segura, a supply chain mapping software provider, to gain greater visibility into our entire operation. This enhanced traceability empowers us to meet our commitments regarding responsible sourcing and ethical production.
By publishing our tier 1 suppliers on Open Supply Hub, we're increasing transparency throughout our supply chain and demonstrating our commitment to open collaboration.
Reiss is in the process of mapping and publishing our product supply chains. Tier 1 manufacturing facilities are listed on Open Supply Hub, an accessible, collaborative platform used by all industry sectors. We continue to map our Tier 2 sites, which include dye-houses, laundries and tanneries.
Our commitment is to:
- Increase the visibility of our supply chains over time, from manufacturing through to raw materials sources.
